Another One Down

Home foreclosures have been an anchor on the housing market for the last several years and while east Carmel has had a smaller share than most areas, we're not immune.  This home, on Griffin Run in east Carmel went under contract after years of vacancy and neglect.  I believe we heard a collective cheer go up from the Prairie View area as the preliminary paperwork was signed Monday night.  Now if it can just clear escrow one small wart on this neighborhood will be resolved and productive once again. Currently there are 17 pre foreclosures in the 46033 along with 11 headed for sherriff sale and 11 bank owned homes.

Double Vision in Moffit Farm

Go ahead. Blink. Try again because it won't help.  There's no issue with your eyes just some repetitive signage in east Carmel.  They're changing road and street signs in Moffit Farm and have installed the new but not yet removed the old across the neighborhod as of 8/30/11.  It's either that or the pre Labor Day weekend happy hour has already started.

That's Gonna....Actually That DID Leave A Mark

It must be that time of year when teenagers are getting bored because some annoying criminal mischief has
popped up a number of times over the last couple of weeks in east Carmel and beyond.  There were several mailboxes in Moffit Farm that got hit into left field last week as well as other thefts that occurred.  This one survived but there are several other shiny new boxes on this street today who's predecessors fared worse.  You can see the exact locations of these reported incidents HERE.  There was a camera taken off the street where the EastOfKeystone.com home offices are located and several other minor thefts reported along Lakeshore Drive this week. Yes, it's true we certainly don't see much crime that's actually dangerous in east Carmel but it's still annoying especially if it's your $300 mailbox and post.  We're all about letting the authorities know if there are kids walking our street after 3 a.m. for their good as well. (It's frightening when you hear yourself becoming your grandfather).
