Another One Down

Home foreclosures have been an anchor on the housing market for the last several years and while east Carmel has had a smaller share than most areas, we're not immune.  This home, on Griffin Run in east Carmel went under contract after years of vacancy and neglect.  I believe we heard a collective cheer go up from the Prairie View area as the preliminary paperwork was signed Monday night.  Now if it can just clear escrow one small wart on this neighborhood will be resolved and productive once again. Currently there are 17 pre foreclosures in the 46033 along with 11 headed for sherriff sale and 11 bank owned homes.

No Love Today

Hard to believe as busy as this court will be in a few days that today it sits quiet.   It appears this Woodlands
court may be expecting lunch guests, however.  For those aspiring Nadals and Federers, surely the unofficial start of summer will bring out the crowds this weekend.....as long as mother nature cooperates!

Almost Time......

Standing ready for Summer like many of east Carmel's water facilities is the splash zone at the Lawrence W. Inlow park on east 131st.  Carmel Clay Parks has been working hard to have this facility and all of the parks east of Keystone ready for the Memorial Day weekend.  From this splash zone to the neighborhood pools, Summer can't come soon enough for Carmel residents who've not yet totally forgotten the three inches of ice they chisled during the early part of February.  For now, hope and warmer weather spring eternal.  Inlow Park also has a great pavillion with grilling areas, picnic tables, restrooms, walking parks and great playground areas.

........Take Your Talents To South.....Rangeline

If you happen to venture into the Arts and Design district tonight or in the future for that matter, a well advised stop at Soho Cafe and Gallery would certainly be in order.  Located at the back of the Mohawk Shopping Plaza, Soho backs up to the Monon and has a great feel both inside and out.  Thursday nights are open mic except for those of us who are talent challenged.  We'll just be content to sample the menu and support you who actually have a skill to display.  You can get the full Soho story on their new web site HERE.    Nice people...intriguing menu...growing gallery...great location.  Well worth the stop!

Definitely Low Tech

Since city workers drilling for gas hit a geyser nearly 100 years ago, the flowing well in Carmel has served it's visitors with fresh ground water that young and old alike come in droves to bottle and take home.  Sitting on 18 acres this artisean well has a mile and a half of walking trails originating nearby and also has a public shelter that most people don't know can be used for family and group events.  With it's uniqueness, you can often hear 'We can drink it...straight out of the ground?'  The answer is yes....unless a bad stretch of flooding temporarily renders the water unsafe as it did in early March of this year.
