Serenity Now.....

It's almost a rarity this winter. A gentle dusting of snow fell on the 46033 this morning and despite the calendar telling us it's February we still don't have ice on Lake Waterstone.  That was just fine for these two geese who were enjoying the open water just fine early Wednesday, thanks very much.  Is it possible we'll escape with out a major snow or ice storm in east Carmel in the Winter of 2012?  After us asking the question out loud, probably not. 

Just A Small Reminder.....

There were multiple home break ins in Carmel in the past few days.  A home on Branford in the Village of West Clay was hit and then a home in the Waterstone development was broken into as well. Fortuntately the suspects were apprehended a short time later but the lesson was a clear one.  It's truly an important time of year to keep an eye out for out neighbors.  The family in Waterstone had their doors all locked and their alarm on.  The suspects used a crow bar to break in through a locked garage access door and walked straight to the Master Bedroom while the alarm was sounding.  They grabbed a jewlery box and then exited through the front door of the home.  Neighbors did see them and helped police with the description of the two individuals who were eventually caught.  With presents at plain sight and other valuables being visible we have to take extra precautions to keep ourselves as safe as possible. It's essential to keep doors and windows locked on both our residences and our vehicles!  While there is some speculation these individuals waited until the homeownwers left to make their entry, the thought of having this happen while one of our family members is at home is more than a little uncomfortable. Has this family not secured their home their neighbors may not have become aware and been able to assist CPD in their capture.  Speaking of which, kudos to our men and women in law enforcement who resolved this situation and we're told is giving these neighborhoods some extra attention this week.  It is comforting to know we have great people keeping us safe. 

Which Body Of Water Has More Activity?

Lake Waterstone was a cool relief today for one resident's canines and actually a busier spot than the Waterstone pool which, in the early afternoon is a pretty quiet day with CCS back in session.  I don't see the need for the lifegurads to blow the whistle for an adult swim today....

'where in east Carmel' question....the Tidewater Club sits just north of 116th 
Street in the middle of the Waterstone development between Bayhill, Stonewick and Windpointe. Brookfield, also a part of Waterstone is just to the north and east of the Clubhouse and dual pools.  Residents of these neighborhoods can lease the facilities for private events and the pools are rarely empty at this time of the year.  We'll have another picture tease from next week in east Carmel!

Just Add Water

In just a few short days Hoosier's bodies that haven't seen sunshine since September will descend on area pools and parks over Memorial Day Weekend.  It will indeed be a sun block application festival.  Many neighborhood pools like this one in Waterstone (Bayhill, Stonewick, Windpointe, Brookfield) are oh so close to being ready.  With a good weather next weekend most of us won't even mind the chilly water in our recently refilled pools.  At least the kids won't mind.  For those of us over 18 for some reason the cold water still seems to sting a bit.  Fortunately it's nothing a cold adult beverage can't cure.
