Cracked Rear View

The tempestuous refinancing issue is behind us.  Seven city council members all voted Monday night in favor of the restructure and this issue should now be in the rear view mirror.  While I fully appreciate that the taxpayers are on the hook, that option ultimately is far better than having the CRC failing.  Our city and everyone (yes everyone) in that council meeting last night would have been painted with failure had it not passed. It's nice to say let it fail but the consequences would have been smeared across the city for a long time to come. Branding does exist and our brand as a community would have been a mess had not cooler heads prevailed.  Look, I get that how things have been done will not be the process in the future. In fact watching the new leadership on the CCC and how they push things forward will be fascinating. What will they do on the heels of where the city has come over the last dozen years?  What matters is that the debt has been resolved and that we move on. Let's hope that those now controlling the process move into 2013 and beyond without tossing bricks backwards to what's behind us. The vision and direction of the city are now dead ahead. Wasting time on what was will only serve to miss what can be. greg cooper, east carmel indiana homes for sale 46033, east carmel indiana neighborhoods, top selling carmel indiana realtor broker agent
