ALL Hamilton County homeowners need to be paying attention this year to the two critical exemptions that most of us have on our properties.  The homestead and mortgage exemptions significantly lower our tax bills each year and could be pulled from your tax records in 2012 without a little follow up from you.   Hamilton County has sent out thousands of reaffirmation forms for homeowners to refile on their properties.  This has been done because so much fraud or unintentional double filing goes on that they are trying to get confirmation of those who deserve the exemptions.  You can check online HERE for instructions on those forms or you can access the main Hamilton County Tax page HERE.  Even if you don't recall getting one of these forms, contact the Treasurer's office to double check your home's status!
