Resurrection

Some five years ago the plans for 126th and Keystone Parkway included a massive development on the grounds of Mohawk Hills apartments.  Fortunately before ground was broken the nation's economy turned and things have been on hold since (we say fortunately because if it had proceeded it may have become a huge failure).  Now Buckingham companies has revised the Grammercy plan and resubmitted it to the CC redevelopment commission.  It will be discussed at the commission's 12/20 meeting.  The major revision will include roughly 1100 new residential units in a variety of lifestyles up to four story buildings in the community's urban core.  Phase one would begin in the Spring.  If it moves forward it remains to be seen how 126th Street would be changed to accommodate the increased traffic flow but for most in east Carmel, that will be an area of impact we all will need to watch.
