Sad Day

We lost a young person this past weekend in east Carmel under circumstances that CPD are still investigating.  Police were called to East Lakeshore Drive early Saturday morning for an unconscious 18 year old Brett Finebloom who was just days away from leaving for his Freshman year at the University Of Oklahoma.  Nearly every teenager's phone in Carmel was buzzing over the weekend on rumors that a group of kids were overindulging in adult activities but none of this is official yet.  Whatever the final result may be, it's another instance where we have to help our young people understand that none of us are invincible and every day truly is a gift.  This will end up being a sobering reminder for all of our children as the 2012-13 school year begins. We offer our thoughts and prayers to Brett's family during this difficult time.
