Not Good

Anyone else have a scene like this over the weekend?  By some accounts we had over 4 inches of rain in east Carmel from Friday night to Sunday night which was not kind of so many basements. I did a casual drive on Monday and counted over 30 homes which either had portable pumps still working, a restoration truck out front or someone hauling water logged debris being hauled out to the curb. Each home came with a the dejected face of the homeowner. The combo of snow melt, intense rain (never saw Sunday being that bad) and the quick drop in temps made for very challenging conditions to deal with. Fortunately the frozen ground has slowed some of that water flow.  A reminder to some of you that DIDN'T get burned. Check your home owner's insurance!  Each type of flood, water damage may require a different type of coverage and you don't want to find that out after the damage occurs.
