Carmel Police have ended another group's efforts to steal catalytic converters in the Carmel area by arresting three people from Indianapolis this week. Andrew Keen, Jessica Hurst and senior citizen Nona Schakel were caught while trying to remove the converter from a Mazda Tribute in front of Dick's Sporting goods in Clay Terrace.  If you do have a vehicle in the Tribute/Honda Element class, you are in the high risk area for theft of your converter given how accessible the underside of the vehicle is. Other thefts have happened recently at Carmel High School and in the parking lot of the strip center on the east side of Meridian at 126th.
