46033 Housing Snap Shot - Early June 2012

Sales continue to increase as a great sign the housing crash of several years ago is getting further behind us.  To date as of 6/5/12 243 homes have gone under contract compared to 215 one year ago on this date. As a contrast, 297 homes had sold in the same period in 2006, a peak year. Our inventory of available homes for sale also has declined with only 237 homes  for sale now in east Carmel versus 296 one year ago.  That summarizes into a 6.6% increase in units of home sold this year and a 20.1% decline in units of available inventory,  a BIG down turn in homes for sale, another indicator of recovery.  Be sure to check back Friday afternoon for our weekly Virtual Open House of new listings for sale and all closed sales for the week of June 8, 2012!
