Back in the day when many maps of Carmel looked like this, there was precious little information about the goings on in our individual neighborhoods in east Carmel. One of our neighborhoods, Woodland Springs, has posted online a copy of their first ever newsletter from September of 1969 and as you can imagine, it's priceless. The August 31 of '69 Woodland Springs Luau was a bang up success (oh yes, there ARE pictures). The bridge club was gearing up for a raucous fall schedule, the 'twixt twelve and twenty' teen group was planning activities for the clubhouse as a certain couple went off for their 'last fling before school started.' Can you imagine if we stated that today? While I'm giving them a hard time....hugekudos to the Woodland Springs HOA for having this online. It's a precious reminder of the types of activities we once all participated in in the 46033. You can open the full document here.
