East Carmel Housing Blog 6.21

Twenty new homes hit the market in east Carmel in the week ending 6/21 including this one in Brookshire North  Personally we're still a sucker for certain older homes and this one on Lakeshore Drive West has a water view that is every sunrise lover's dream.  Other homes that came on the market this week included properties in Chapman's Claim at Prairie View,
Foster Estates, Avian Glen, Eden Estates, Williamson Run,
Mohawk Crossing, Foster Ridge, Brookshire Lakes (2), Foster Ridge, Plum Creek Ridge, Brookshire North (2), Plum Creek North, Shadybrook, Cool Creek North, Glenwood, Plum Creek Farms and Brookshire Village. 

Sold homes this week were in Smokey Ridge, Cherry Creek Estates, the Lakes At Hazel Dell and in Lake Forest.   

Yes, it was slower week with only four homes going under contract but for the year things are still progressing nicely coming off a skewed market as we were with the homebuyer credits significantly affecting sales in 2010.  Year to date in east Carmel 229 homes have sold or gone under contract compared to 243 one year ago.  All in all not a bad representation considering how last year's sales figures were so dramatically altered by the credit.  On a housing related note....there have been a number of press related stories about how challenged the local housing market is.  While there certainly still is pain, things are not as they've been repressented in certain local publications.  You can get the straight story on Greg's real estate blog HERE .
