In Agreement

It's not easy, even for the owners and managers of east Carmel's pools to let go of the season as evidenced by the billboard in front of the Smokey Row Family Swim Club.  Look at the bright side....just 254 days until this pool will reopen to elated kids ready to burn off the winter's rust.  Oh and parents will look forward as well...to a few moments of not hearing 'Mom, Dad, I'm bored!.'  

Summer's Last Dive

Tomorrow it's back to Carmel Middle for this student 
but today Summer still flies.  Kids from across east Carmel are getting their last dives in at all of the neighborhood pools and trying not to worry about that first test.  A belly flop at Smokey Row may last this 12 year old well into late August judging by the landing that's ahead of him.

Many Reasons To Remember & Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend.....

From the silent military grave behind Whitehall Church on 116th to the checkered flag lined streets of Cricket Knoll off of east Main Street, we have many reasons to remember and enjoy this Memorial Day Weekend in east Carmel.  Many of us tend to take it for granted we live in an area that captivates the world's attention every year at this time, not to mention the fact that for it's flaws, we still live in a pretty remarkable community.  Let's face it...we've got it pretty good.  There are plenty of places kids weren't sitting out in front all alone selling slushies or hanging at the local pool over the last couple of days.  Sound corny?  Perhaps...but that's why we pause to remember those who have sacrificed to give us those freedoms.
