I was driving down Hazel Dell this weekend and noticed a pick up baseball game going on at Northview. As a hit bounced through the infield all you could see was little puffs of dirt arising as the ball skipped along the ground. No rain and days of 105 degree heat have taken their toll anywhere there's no irrigation and it's probably past the point of no return for the Summer of 2012. The medians of Hazel Dell and Keystone and just about anywhere that doesn't have consistent water are a mess. If a water ban comes later today some of the rest of us may not be far behind. If any of you are versed at the art of the rain dance....now would be the time!
